Women and Shelter Network (WAS)

DIN's Executive Director, Dr. Bola Fajemirokun, was elected the alternate representative of the Women and Shelter Network (WAS) to the Board of Habitat International Coalition (HIC) in January 2007. Representing over 400 civil society groups, HIC has been in existence for over 30 years and WAS is one of its thematic networks.

Human Rights Information Network (HURINET)

On 29 June 2007, DIN's Senior Programme Officer, Dede Kadiri was elected the Vice-Chair of HURINET for a 2-year term. With its Secretariat at the British Council, Lagos, HURINET is a network of individuals and groups working to realize the fulfilment of all human rights, especially economic and social rights, through advocacy, campaigns and information dissemination. HURINET holds its monthly meetings at the British Council Office on the last Friday of every month.

 
 
 
Enhancing Financial Innovation and Access (EFInA)

In April 2007, DIN's Executive Director, Dr. Bola Fajemirokun, accepted the invitation to serve on the Board of Directors of Enhancing Financial Innovation and Access Ltd/Gte (EFInA). A new nonprofit, which is being established with start-up funding from the United Kingdom's Department for International Development (DFID) and the Ford Foundation, EFInA's major objective is to catalyse the introduction of innovative products and services that will make Nigeria's financial services sector more inclusive. Its emergence comes at a time when new national policies on microfinance and consumer credit, have already been introduced by the Federal Government. The Board is chaired by Mr. Adedotun Sulaiman, Chairman, Accenture Nigeria.
